NEW COLLECTION - EVA AIR FLEET

EVA Air B747-400
EVA Air B777-300ER
EVA Air A330-200
During the biz trip to Tokyo last month, the airplane model set was on sale on EVA Air flight. So I bought this Herpa 1:1000 EVA Air fleet set as my new collection. Surprisingly, they make quite detail landing gears for such small scale models. As usual, I took some photo for them with some editing works by Photoshop.

2 POPULAR SITES FOR ENJOYING BEAUTIFUL SAKURA IN TOKYO

Picnic at Ueno Park
Ueno Park
Shinjuku Gyoen, nice place for family picnic
Shinjuku Gyoen
Cherry Blossoms at Ueno Park
From mid March to mid April is the Sakura (Cherry blossoms) season in Tokyo. There are 2 most popular sites for viewing sakura; one is Ueno Park(上野恩賜公園) and one is Shinjuku Gyoen(新宿御苑).

I visited these 2 places during the weekend, and got an interesting finding. There were more younger groups (students, friends and colleagues) at Ueno Park and more families and senior people at Shinjuku Gyoen. I am not sure what caused this phenomenon, my guess is alcohol allowed at Ueno Park but Shinjuku Gyoen.

Anyway, I like both locations. Because both places show beautiful sakura and happy atmospheres.

GOOD BYE, MY TRAVEL BUDDY!

My Hi-Tec hiking boots had been my travel buddy for 7 years; been to Japan, Egypt, some European countries, many hiking trails in Taiwan and this time to New Zealand.

Maybe it was about the time for end of its life. On the second day of my New Zealand trip, the left foot of this shoes was broken. Then right foot one was broken on the day before end of this trip. I fixed them with glue, so I could still finish this trip, even went bungy with this pair of shoes.

This pair of shoes was bought in Hong Kong in 2003 and had been to many places. So I thought New Zealand would be a good location for end of its life. I believe my travel buddy is happy about this ending, so I just left it in New Zealand instead of taking home.

Today, I bought a new pair of Salomon hiking boots at a quite nice discount price. I think it can be my travel buddy for another 7 years.
